I'm currently reading The Color of Water by James McBride. Despite my misgivings, it's turning out to be an excellent account of the life of an African-American man born to a white, Jewish woman.
I love the story about him getting on the camp bus with another kid whose father is a Black Panther and screaming out the window to his mother as she stands and waves goodbye. She is standing next to the Black Panther dad and James is terrified this man will kill her because she's white. As usual, his mother remains oblivious to the perceived danger. Too cute!

Also took my 84 year old dad out last night to see the movie An Inconvenient Truth and decided that America must have been brain dead when they didn't vote for Al Gore in the elections and chose to end up with Dubya.... Aarrrrgghhh! If you haven't seen this movie, you're losing a huge chunk of useful brain cells (and possibly a whole planet).

I have one child ( a young daughter). My husband and I are planning to move, with her, to a village in the Czech Republic sometime later in 2006. Oh, and I have a Masters Degree, specialising in knowledge management.
